Joyetech Exceed Grip 1000 mAh Review

Joyetech has released yet another vaping device many would definitely adore. The Exceed Grip is an all-in-one (AIO) and pod vape device that comes in a plethora of colors with choices of minimalistic plain designs or artistic mismatched panels. It is a smart pod system with a classic boxy style design.

The sweet-looking Exceed Grip has a sturdy and high-quality feel. It is made from zinc alloy and PC material. Standing at just 40 mm × 21 mm × 74 mm, it is compact but fits perfectly in the hands, and its responsive and clicky button is quite convenient.

It boasts of dual colorful in-mold labeling panels, which provide two great graphics that will suit your present lifestyle and provide better dust, moisture, and scratch resistance.

The Exceed Grip by Joyetech features a replaceable 510 Delrin dip tip, an AIO cartridge, and a pod. The cartridge takes the EX-M mesh 0.4ohm heads that offer a restrictive lung hit, whereas the pods have 0.8ohm resistance and provide a loose mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw with dry hit protection.

As for the cartridges, the 0.4 ohm wicks pretty fast, which is a bit impressive compared with other devices. For a small AIO like the Exceed Grip vape pod, I can say that its MTL draws are pretty decent, vapor production is plentiful, and the flavor is good.

The only drawback you will be probably deal with is that the coils die a bit fast. This means you need to replace your coils pretty often.

As for the pods, Joyetech is widely marketing its dry protection hit feature, so my expectations are quite high. With the dry protection hit feature, Exceed Grip can allow you to enjoy a consistent vape without worrying of any dry hit.

Just like the cartridge, the pod wicks fast too, and both flavor and vapor were decent. And for the dry hit protection? Yes, it is legit true, and I can personally attest to it. This feature is not just for marketing purpose.

Under the hood is a 1000 mAh battery, which can last enough for average vapers. An LED light on the device will indicate when your battery is running low. A simple click on the fire button would allow you to check on the charge status of your device, just check your manual for the light indicators.

Although this is just a minor glitch, the light signals can be quite confusing too. The red light indicates two things: either your battery is more than 20% or it will die down soon.

Now, allow me to weigh the pros and cons of this device.

Pros:

  • Judging by the way it feels, I know this thing won’t just break easily.
  • While I am more of a minimalist, the aesthetic of both plain and color designs is impressive.
  • There are plenty of colors to choose
  • The kit comes with two replaceable coils and a pod
  • The 510 drip tip is removable
  • Quick ramp and easy wick
  • Dry burn protection feature to stay away from dry hits
  • Different airflow available

Cons

  • The replaceable EX-M coils dry pretty fast, and it makes me lazy to keep on changing it every now and then
  • Sometimes, I feel the dry hit protection feature is cutting power down too aggressively

Overall, I think the Joyetech Exceed Grip is a good device for beginners or pros who want something discreet but is good-performing. At the end of the day, vaping devices need to serve their purposes, so performance always play a huge factor for me. Both cartridge and pod were okay, with decent flavor and vapor production.
